The Young vocalists learned to sing Chinese songs in China

Twenty foreign young vocalists and six China young singers met in Beijing on July 19 for a week’s Chinese language training and the training of Chinese and western opera.

It was known that this activity was called “I SING BEIJING-Chinese Singing Plan for International Young vocalists”, which was sponsored by Hanban and American Asian Offspring Performance Center. After completing the study, the vocalists would perform a special concert in National Grand Theater of China.

It is reported that since its start-up in March this activity gain much attention from the worldwide of vocal area for attendance. After selection, nearly twenty young vocalists from America, Italy, Latvia, Albania, Brazil, Mexico and Uruguay got the chance to come to China for training. They will finish Chinese dialogue, Chinese vocal training, Chinese modern opera and western classic opera. At the same time, they will take part in the forum of Chinese culture.

The six experts that take charge in training are all international well known opera and vocal professors from New York Opera Theater, Italy Scala Opera Center and Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

We are positive to make the Chinese singers to learn from international art for more than twenty years, said by Liao Yinghua, the Chair of American Asian Offspring Performance Center. Currently, with the popularity of Chinese language, we will invite foreign singers to China, which has been never done before.

Chinese is hard to learn and we are sparing no effort to spread it, said Xu Lin, the Director of Hanban. Such activity explores the new platform of the cultural cooperation. In another way, it is also our attempt to enrich international Chinese education and develop Chinese culture.
