China values import of foreign talents
A populous country with a broad market and plenty of opportunities, China has always attached great importance to introducing foreign talents, said Li Yuanchao, head of the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
China’s rapid development has brought vast opportunities for the talented and better conditions and platforms for career prospects, said Li who made the remarks during a forum of high-level foreign talents in Guangzhou, Dec 20, 2011.
The government invested 698 billion yuan ($110 billion) on scientific research in 2010, ranking third in the world, Li said; and about 300,000 foreign experts have been working in China each year from 2001 to 2010.
China will continue to carry out a program to recruit 500 to 1,000 high-caliber foreign experts over the next 10 years in key industries of economic and social development, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) said Jan.10, 2012.
