Karolinska Institute President H.W.H. visited TU

Karolinska Institute President Harriet Wallberg-Henriksson and her delegation visited Tianjin University (TU) on Sept21, 2011, accompanied by the leaders from the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission.

President of TU Li Jiajun met with the guests. Also in attendance were the representatives from the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, the School of Chemical Engineering, the Graduate School and the International Cooperation Office, TU.

President Li extended his warm welcome to the guests and recalled the collaboration between the Research Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) of Karolinska Institute and Tianjin. He then gave a detailed introduction to TU history, its academic schools, achievements in disciplinary development and international cooperation. Vice Dean Bao Jianmin from the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology gave an overview on TU life medical science, the State Research Center of Industrialization for Crystallization Technology, physical science and the key laboratories. President Wallberg-Henriksson expressed her appreciation for TU’s hospitality. Both sides contributed to the in-depth discussion regarding the cooperation between the two parties, in terms of joint research and student training.

During their stay at TU, the delegation also paid a visit to the TU History Museum, accompanied by President Li.
