NTNU students volunteer to tutor children in China
A group of students from National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) started a volunteer service yesterday to provide after-school tutoring in remote areas of China as part of an exchange program initiated by the university, a school official said in Beijing. The program, now its second year, has attracted 150 students from 14 universities in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and China, according to NTNU, which specializes in teacher training.
The 49 student volunteers from NTNU provided tutoring service for underprivileged students from 11 junior high schools around Taiwan over an eight-day period this month.
