Over 1,000 students, parents, teachers, and friends attended the annual YCIS Beijing BBQ. The BBQ offered a wide variety of food and fun for the whole family.

Parents and students entered through YCIS Beijing’s gate passing under a colourful balloon arch to a festival atmosphere of picnic tables and benches. Each table was decorated with a bouquet of flowers and balloons danced in the breeze to loud speakers playing summer tunes.

YCIS Beijing invited three Beijing food vendors serving distinct cuisines including American, Italian, and Indian. It was an international community celebrating a BBQ on an international scale complete with skewered meats, grilled vegetables, curries, and the quintessential BBQ food of hot dogs and hamburgers. Whether eating a hot dog from the grill, cotton candy served by a clown, speaking with a friend or playing freeze tag, there was ample food and fun at this event.

During the event parents took the opportunity to meet each other or find their child’s teacher to discover more about YCIS Beijing’s learning in the classroom. YCIS Beijing students used the time to socialise and catch up with friends about what happened during the summer.

As the sun fell and the lights dimmed on the YCIS Beijing BBQ, parents, and students exited back underneath the balloon arch with painted faces, full stomachs, and smiling faces eager for another day.
