YCIS:IB Programme (Years 12-13)
The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme is a rigorous pre-university course of studies, leading to external examinations that meet the needs of highly motivated secondary students between the ages of 16 to 19 years.
Designed as a comprehensive two-year curriculum that allows graduates to fulfil requirements of various national education systems, the diploma model is based on the pattern of no single country but incorporates the best elements of several.
The IB programme is a well-rounded liberal arts and science programme designed to prepare students thoroughly for success in life beyond school. The International Baccalaureate Organization gives IB diploma holders access to the world's leading universities as well as solid preparation for higher achievement once enrolled.
The components of the IB Diploma Programme:

Students are required to study SIX SUBJECTS chosen from the six subject groups.
To allow for specialisation, three subjects are chosen at higher level (HL), and to ensure a broad education three subjects are chosen at standard level (SL).
Participation in an interdisciplinary course entitled the Theory of Knowledge (TOK).
Participation in a programme of Creativity, Action and Service (CAS).
For full list of current subjects offered and further information about IB programme, please refer to our IB handbook.
We have experienced IB teaching staff and currently there are six IB Assistant Examiners on our teaching team. We have an IB Diploma Programme Co-ordinator and a Creativity, Action and Service Co-ordinator who support our students through the two-year IB programme.
